skillHUB – a middleware solution for modern skills management in HR systems and job marketplaces

skillHUB is part of a a strategic workforce management initiative by skills.ch. Our focus is to create solutions for labour market readiness.

Core features of skillHUB

«Skills are the new currency». This trend topic has been driving the HR community for several years. Skills-based use cases can be found in numerous systems, for example in the context of learning, internal mobility and the reflection of employability. In all cases, the employee’s skills profile is required.

The goal of skillHUB is to provide a semantic standard (ontology) for skills description, combined with a middleware to interconnect HR data silos, project-based marketplaces and learning platforms.

Receive skills

Obtain employee skill information from peripheral systems.

Match & consolidate skills

Consolidation of information and creation of a consistent, central skills inventory.

Rule-based processing

Distribution of skill information to the relevant systems by means of defined rules.

We want to …

… create a technology-neutral platform that enables us to provide a uniform and consistent view of the skills of individuals and organisations.

In doing so, the protection of personal data is paramount. Users decide at any time who gets to see a skill profile, when and how much.

We are looking for …

… future-oriented companies that want to combine the skills vision with their workforce strategy together with us.

And we are looking for software manufacturers from the HR sector who want to increasingly focus their products on skills management.

We offer …

… the chance to work together to build a skills-based, open platform for employees, employers, job portals and training institutions.

In doing so, we are laying the foundation for one of the most important paradigm shifts in the world of work – away from job profiles to skill profiles.
